Post-Jam Reflection (+ Development GIFs)
The GMTK 2018 Jam has finished!
Shmavity is not included in the highlights video reel, but I think a lot went right in this jam. Given a very unique prompt and only 2 days to finish a game with it, I'm very surprised with how much polish I was able to crank out in this jam. Even a soundtrack that got a shockingly decent reaction! Obviously I can see things now that I wish I had implemented earlier, but that's what happens during a 2 week reflection for a 2 day game. Top 100 is more than I could ever ask for (placement was #83 out of 1000+)!
I'm finished with Shmavity and ready to move on to another silly idea that I hope I get to see in a playable state sometime soon, so I thought it might be fun to share all the GIFs I recorded during the development of the game. They're in order and were created each time I wanted to highlight something that isn't easily described in words, so hopefully my train of thought is easy to see through these as I don't intend on trying to remember.
This was by far the most fun jam I took part of (especially since I ran into very few issues), so I can't wait for the next one!
